As Associate Professor and Senior Registrar in Endocrinology, I work at the intersection of clinical care and research in obesity, metabolic diseases and eating disorders. My work focuses on improving patient outcomes through epidemiological and clinical research, teaching and supervision. I hold an MD and PhD from Aarhus University and contribute to national guideline development, quality improvement initiatives and clinical research collaborations.
My research focuses on obesity and its health consequences, with particular emphasis on treatment outcomes, bariatric surgery, and mental health. Using nationwide health registries, clinical cohorts and patient-reported data, I aim to generate evidence that improves prevention and treatment strategies. My research supports clinicians and policymakers in delivering evidence-based obesity care.
My primary responsibility is research and clinical care within endocrinology, obesity and metabolic diseases, including bariatric surgery and obesity-related complications. I also contribute to teaching, supervision of students and early-career researchers, development of clinical guidelines, quality improvement programmes and multidisciplinary research collaborations.
