I am Professor and Chair of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Aarhus University and Senior Consultant in Pain Management. My research focuses on acute and chronic post-surgical pain, particularly its prediction, prevention, and treatment. I use diverse methodological approaches to investigate pain trajectories and improve patient outcomes following surgery. I teach at all academic levels and supervise Master- and PhD students, supporting the development of future researchers and clinicians.
As Professor and Chair, I have broad academic, educational, and administrative responsibilities. These include coordinating medical students’ clinical rotations, contributing to undergraduate education, and participating in examinations and assessments. I also contribute to departmental and university governance through research councils, committees, and assessment panels, including the evaluation of academic appointments and research activities.
