As clinical professor and chair, I am responsible for research within the field of occupational medicine. I conduct epidemiological studies addressing cancer, cardiovascular, mental and other diseases in worker populations experiencing chemical, physical, and biological exposures. I combine field study measurements with national health and labor market registers. Exposure response analyses based on job exposure matrices and industry-based exposure models are a major focus.
I am course leader and teach pre- and postgraduate courses for e.g. medical students, PhD students, and physicians in specialist training for occupational medicine. Topics: occupational epidemiology, occupational medicine, exposure science.
I have close collaboration with the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon; School of Public Health, University of Berkeley; Institute of Risk Assessment, University of Utrecht; ISGlobal, Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Lund University; Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet; Department of Public Health, Copenhagen University; Department of Public Health, Aarhus University, clinical departments at Aarhus University Hospital and others.
