I have a background in mathematics and hold a PhD in Health Sciences. I am committed to advancing research through innovative methodologies, including biostatistics, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the development of large-scale data platforms. My research focuses on the epidemiology of venous thromboembolism, maternal and child health, particularly among vulnerable newborns, and reproductive epidemiology.
My primary research areas are within statistical & epidemiological methods, venous thromboembolism and cancer epidemiology, and maternal & child health epidemiology, with a special focus on vulnerable newborns. In my role as chair and coordinator of the GBS Vax-Ready European Consortium and as the main organiser of the GBS Symposium 2026, I aim to strengthen routine data collection across Europe and improve understanding of the consequences of the invasive Group B Streptococcus disease.
I collaborate closely with international research institutes, such as Stanford University, Boston University, Harvard University, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Amsterdam UMC, Vienna Medical University.
My primary responsibilities include conducting epidemiological research, primarily in collaboration with international research institutions, using advanced methodologies, including AI and machine learning. I also contribute to the establishment of large-scale data platforms based on Danish registry and survey data. I supervise MSc and PhD students and, as chair and coordinator of the GBS Vax-Ready European Consortium, lead collaborative efforts in Group B Streptococcus research.
