As an Associate Professor at Danish Center for Mindfulness, I conduct research on mental health. I study how mental health can be measured and explore the potential of mindfulness- and compassion-based interventions. I investigate the feasibility, effectiveness, mechanisms, and limitations of these interventions across various contexts.
I have a background as a registered nurse, hold a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), and a PhD. I have been an Associate Professor since 2017.
I have more than 15 years of experience in applied intervention research within health promotion and prevention. My work involves conducting randomized controlled trials and applying advanced statistical methods, including mediation analyses, in settings such as general practice, municipal health centers, schools, and workplaces. My research focuses on measuring and enhancing mental health, as well as understanding the socio-ecological factors that shape it, particularly among young people.
I have taught the course Basic Epidemiology in the Medicine program at Aarhus University. I have also co-developed and taught the course Complex Interventions in Public Health in the Master’s program in Public Health Science.
Since 2018, I have been responsible for the interdisciplinary elective Stress: Mental Health Promotion and Prevention with Mindfulness-Based Interventions.
I supervise Master’s and PhD students.
