Profile

I am a clinical epidemiologist, currently employed as a postdoc. My educational background is in public health and I hold a PhD in clinical epidemiology. My work primarily focuses on cancer, as well as social inequality in disease and its consequences more broadly.

Research

My main focus is cancer epidemiology, with a particular focus on prognosis after cancer. I have a keen interest in identifying prognostic factors that can support the detection of individuals at risk of complications, cancer recurrence, decreased attachment to the labor market, or death. Currently, I focus on the impact of obesity on cancer prognosis, including its interaction with social inequality and comorbidity. I am deeply committed to investigating social inequality, both in the context of cancer and more broadly in the consequences of various diseases.

Teaching activities

I teach in the PhD courses Introduction to Clinical Epidemiology and Cancer Epidemiology using the Danish Clinical Cancer Databases, as well as master's level courses related to epidemiology. In addition, I supervise thesis and research year students.

Collaborations

I collaborate with both national and international researchers and clinicians, for example from the Danish Cancer Institute, Stanford University, and Emory University.

Job responsibilities

My primary area of work is research, as well as teaching and supervision. In addition, I run the SEPLINE project, which is a national initiative aimed at streamlining the use of socioeconomic data sources.
