Human Papillomavirus and female infertility
New PhD dissertation from DCE investigates the impact of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) on female fertility.
Mette Lauge Kristensen, who defended her PhD dissertation today, has conducted three studies on HPV and female fertility as part of the SnartForældre.dk (SoonParents) project.
HPV is a sexually transmitted virus. Persistent HPV infection can lead to cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). A new PhD project from Aarhus University, Health, has investigated the influence of CIN on female fertility, including whether CIN increases the risk of spontaneous abortion and whether HPV vaccination has a protective effect on fertility.
The summary is written by the PhD student.
