High school students visiting DCE
Inequality in health was on the agenda when a high school class visited DCE last week to learn more about research within this topic. The visit was facilitated by PhD student Malene Risager Lykke.
What defines inequality in health and how can we solve some of the problems related to this topic in the future?
26 students from Vesthimmerlands Gymnasium visited Department of Clinical Epidemiology for a discussion about this topic last week. They had been working with inequality in health in their social science class for the past weeks and at DCE they were introduced to the Danish health care registries, how inequality in health can be defined and how it can be described by use of data. Several researchers from DCE contributed with lectures and inputs on the day and the students engaged in a discussion about the future solutions for our health care system – and came up with some very promising suggestions!
Thanks to colleagues Ina Trolle Andersen, Mette Kielsholm Thomsen, Emma Skovgaard Pedersen, Søren Korsgaard, and Jannik Wheler for contributing with lectures and input and to DCE for hosting the event.
